SquadXOX — the free football grid game

SquadXOX is a daily football grid puzzle: a 3×3 grid where every row and column is a club (or a country). To claim a square, name a footballer who played for both the row club and the column club. Fill the grid, beat the clock, and build your Football IQ. Play free in your browser — no download, no sign-up.

How to play the football grid

Pick a square. Each square sits at the crossing of two clubs, e.g. Real Madrid ∩ Juventus.
Name a player who played for both. Type a name; the autocomplete shows matching footballers with their club history. Cristiano Ronaldo or Zinedine Zidane would both take that square.
Rarer picks score more. Every correct answer is ranked by how many other players chose it: a Legendary pick (almost nobody thought of it) earns far more than an obvious one. Deep knowledge beats famous names.
Fill all nine. The Daily Grid gives you 9 guesses and 3 minutes. Practice mode is unlimited; Live Duel is real-time tic-tac-toe against a friend on the same grid.

Game modes

Daily Grid — one new football grid every day, the same for everyone. Keep your streak alive.
Live Duel — football tic-tac-toe: take turns claiming squares, three in a row wins. Invite a friend with a code.
Practice — play against the bot as much as you like, on club grids or country grids, easy or hard.
Challenge a friend — share your result; they play the exact same grid and you compare scores and time.

Is SquadXOX free?

Yes. The web version is free to play and supported by ads. The iPhone app is free too, with optional rewarded videos for extra jokers.

Which clubs and players are included?

More than 3,000 players across 80+ clubs from the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, the Süper Lig and other top leagues, plus national teams for country grids. Loan spells count as having played for the club.

What is Football IQ?

Your running score across every grid you play. It rises with correct answers, rises faster with rare answers, and is broken down by league so you can see where your knowledge is strongest. The leaderboard ranks players worldwide by Football IQ.

Is it like Immaculate Grid or Tiki Taka Toe?

Same family of game — a "footy grid" where you need a player who fits two criteria — with two twists: rarity scoring (obvious answers earn less) and live duels against friends on the same board.

No. Progress is saved in your browser automatically. Pick a nickname only if you want to appear on the leaderboard.
