What it is
SquadXOX is a free football grid game — a footy grid, or football tic tac toe — where you fill a 3×3 board by naming a player who turned out for both the row club and the column club. It takes a minute to learn and years of watching football to truly master.
It is playable right here in your browser and on mobile, with a new grid every single day and real-time duels against other fans.
The idea
Most trivia games ask you for a fact and mark it right or wrong. SquadXOX asks for something harder: depth. Almost every cell has an easy answer the whole world knows — and a dozen obscure ones only the real heads remember.
That is why every answer is scored by rarity. Naming the superstar is fine. Naming the third-choice goalkeeper who spent one loan season there in 2011 is what earns bragging rights. The grid becomes a measure of how deep your football memory really goes — your Football IQ.
